Who says republicans are humorless assholes?  A local GOP group in trenton NJ has  incurred the wrath of freedom hating liberals by exerting thier god-given right of freedom of expression.  The Pemberton Republican Club recently removed the slogan “obama loves america like OJ loved nicole” from thier website after wigs flipped all across the USA.  i wonder if the slogan “john mccain loves america like john ramsey loved jon benet”  would cause as much liberal ire. probably not.

“A WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 19 nations finds that in 14 of them most people favor an unequivocal rule against torture, even in the case of terrorists who have information that could save innocent lives. Four nations lean toward favoring an exception in the case of terrorists.”

Can you guess the 4 nations? Go on, guess.  Did you guess the US?  Yeah, i thought so. Well you’re wrong. america is #7. (thanks to dr nick for pointing out my previous inaccuracy) If we even have to debate on whether or not torture is acceptable the terrorists have already won, and we have become them.

What scares me even worse than than the 31% of those polled who favor limited exceptions allowing torture are the 13% WHO THINK TORTURE SHOULD BE COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE.  Exactly how does this provide America the moral highground to seek out and destroy injustice abroad? No wonder everyone thinks we’re all a bunch of hypocritical pigs.  Sigh.
